The 2010 Formula One World Championship for both the drivers and constructors has become an even tighter race after Ferrari’s dominant performance at the Italian Grand Prix last weekend.
Fernando Alonso’s win at Monza has bought him into real contention and is now lying third in the championship just one point ahead of Jenson Button who finished second and 3 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel who finished fourth.
While Mark Webber had one of his poorest finishes of the season finishing 6th, the retirement of Lewis Hamilton, his main competitor, after a collision with Felipe Massa on the first lap meant that Webber reclaimed the lead of the Drivers Championship.
After the Italian Grand Prix Michael Schumacher and Adrian Sutil have been mathematically eliminated from the race for the Drivers Championship, however that means that on paper at least eight Drivers could still mathematically win the Championship, although based upon the performance so far this season in reality only five have a real chance.
