Italian Grand Prix Preview – One Lap of Monza with Vettel

by F1Fan on September 8, 2010

With just six Grand Prix’s left to close out the 2010 Formula One World Championship, this weekends Italian Grand Prix the last European race for the season may prove to be pivotal in the race for both the Constructors and Drivers world Championship.

The high speed nature of the circuit should suit McLAren, Red Bull And Ferrari, although all teams will be trying to improve top speed and will have one off, low downforce front and rear wing designs to maximize speed along the long Monza straights.

Of the five drivers still really in the fight for the Drivers championship Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), Mark Webber (Red Bull Racing), Jenson Button (McLaren), Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull Racing) and Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), only Sebastian Vettel has won at Monza. In fact Monza was the very first Formula One Grand Prix Vettel ever won and was also the first ever race win for Toro Rosso made even more special by the terrible wet conditions of that 2008 Italian Grand Prix.

Another win for Vettel at Monza this weekend would close the gap and put him back in contention for the Drivers Championship so pretty much everything is on the line.

What better way to check out a lap of Monza than to join Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull Racing F1 simulator, you really get to appreciate how he will be driving in the Race. Enjoy:
