British Grand Prix – Preview with Lewis Hamilton (Video)

by F1Fan on July 3, 2010

The majority of the current Formula One teams could claim the British Grand Prix as their home race as they are based in the UK. The list includes Force India, Lotus Racing, McLaren, Mercedes GP, Red Bull Racing, Renault F1, Virgin Racing and Wiiliams F1 with only BMW Sauber F1 being based in Hinwil Switzerland and, Ferrari and Scuderia Toro Rosso being based in Italy.

However it is the McLaren team that has most to gain from a win in front of the British Fans, being not only a British team but also having a completely English driver line up including their reserve driver Gary paffett in addition to the current and prior Formula One World Champions Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. So the pressure is on.

Mclaren is pulling out all the stops for the British Grand Prix and plans to introduce its version of the devastatingly effective Blown Rear diffuser that has given the Red Bull RB6 chassis such an advantage so far this season.

The following McLaren video of Lewis Hamilton being interviewed at the Silverstone circuit gives a good insight into what we can expect and how he views the changes made to the circuit.

Not long to wait now, the British Grand Prix race weekend starts 7 years, 4 months, 1 week, 1 day, 19 hours, 42 minutes ago. Should be a cracking race, the fast nature of the Silverstone Circuit should suit the Red Bull cars of Vettel and Webber, Ferrari showed significant gains in race pace at the European Grand Prix even though the results did not reflect their improvement so they could well be a factor and Renault F1 continues to gradually improve race by race.

The big question is will the Mclaren teams latest modifications to the MP4-25 give them the increased pace they need to achieve another one two finish, and if so who will be on the top step of the podium Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton?
