European Grand Prix Vettel Win Narrows Drivers Championship

by F1Fan on June 29, 2010

Before the start of the European Grand Prix it looked very promising that Red Bull could easily have two drivers on the podium and maybe even retake the Formula One Drivers World Championship.

Mark Webbers terrible start dropping seven places from second to ninth and subsequent horrific crash ended that possibility. However Vettels dominant performance and subsequent win has narrowed the gap at the top of the Drivers Championship.

McLaren dodged the bullet big time finishing second and third even though Lewis Hamilton was penalized with a drive through penalty.

Ferrari suffered the most, with the Safety car release after Webbers crash and subsequent pit stops dropping both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa way down the field. Right after the crash they were sitting as high as 3rd and 4th, only to loose that advantage through being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
