The European Grand Prix ended up being a good race for McLaren with both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button finishing on the Podium in second and third behind Sebastian Vettel.
With Mark Webbers crash taking him out of the race and only Vettel scoring points for Red Bull, both Ferrari’s getting stuck behind the Safety car effectively ending their race, with Fernando Alonso only scoring a handful of points, McLaren increased its overall lead in the Formula One Constructors Championship.
2010 Constructors Championship After European Grand Prix
Confirmed teams for the 2010 seasonUpdated Jun 27, 2010
The British Grand Prix is next, the first time for any of the teams to compete on the new circuit configuration at Silverstone. Lots of pressure on McLaren and their drivers to perform on home turf, but the Red Bull cars seem to still have an edge when it comes to overall lap time, and before the safety car incident ruined Ferrari’s race it was obvious that the recently introduced Aero improvements have given the Ferrari F10 additional pace.
So it looks like the Constructors Championship is it still very much a three horse race, with Mercedes GP still in with a shot but need both Drivers to be regularly scoring points.
