Friday Practice at the European Grand Prix ended with Fernando Alonso setting fastest lap in his Ferrari much to the delight of the Spanish fans.
In the race for improved speed and handling this weekend Ferrari re-introduced their version of the “F-Duct” and were also one of three teams sporting revised lowered exhaust outlets copying the very effective design of Red Bull Racing’s, Adrian Newey. The other two teams with this revised configuration were Renault and Mercedes GP.
Red Bull are not resting on their laurels either and in Practice today were testing a newer version of their “F-Duct”, while we know from prior Grand Prix race weekends, practice times are not necessarily indicative of all out qualifying pace but at first take it certainly looks like Red Bull is moving in the right direction with both Vettel and webber finishing in the top three fastest times of the day.
