European Grand Prix – 1 Lap Video

by F1Fan on June 23, 2010

The European Grand Prix, Round 9 of the 2010 Formula One World Championship returns to the Valencia Street Circuit in Spain this coming weekend.

The attached video from Red Bull gives the drivers perspective on what a lap of the challenging semi permanent street circuit is like.

The Valencia Street Circuit is similar in some aspects to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve home of the Canadian Grand Prix, having Long fast straights combined with slow corners, so the Teams that did well in Canada a couple of weeks ago should also have a car that performs well at Valencia.

Many of the teams will be bringing new aero parts for Valencia in the continual effort to improve overall performance. Red Bull and Williams will be trying out newer versions of their “F-Duct” hoping to see an improvement in top end speed and Renault and Force India are also banking on taking another step forward.

This seasons championship is turning out to be a really close fight throughout the field, with McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari competing closely for top honors, then Mercedes, with Renault and Force India coming on strong just ahead of Williams and Torro Rosso. The odd man out of the established teams has been the Sauber team who have had a terrible season so far this year having only finished in three of the eight Grand Prix’s and only managing to score one solitary point at the Turkish Grand Prix.

At the rear of the field it is a fight between the three new teams Lotus Racing, HRT and Virgin Racing. Lotus were looking to be the most reliable of the new teams and are narrowly ahead but HRT is closing in, while Virgin Racing still seems to be suffering from mechanical issues.

Should be another good race this weekend. You can find the Grand Prix Broadcast schedule here.
