Turkish Grand Prix – Broadcast Schedule

by F1Fan on May 27, 2010

This weekend sees the F1 circus head to Istanbul for Round Seven of the Formula One World Championship, the Turkish Grand Prix.

Held a the Herman Tilke designed purpose built F1 circuit, Istanbul Park some 50 Km’s outside of Instanbul this year will mark the sixth Grand Prix to be held in Turkey.

Istanbul Park also know as “Otodrom” is the first of four circuits on the 2010 f1 calendar that are run in a counter clockwise direction the others being Yaz Marina in AbuDhabi, Marina Circuit in Sinapore and Interlagos in Brazil.

THe layout of the Istanbul Park circuit full of gradients, sweeping curves, and the challenging four or three apex bend depending on who you talk to of Turn 8 all make it one of the drivers’ favourites.

Built for the 2005 season by famous F1 circuit architect Hermann Tilke, Istanbul Park allowed Turkey to become a Formula One host nation. In the five grands prix held since, Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, has won a hat-trick of races from 2006-2008, each time from pole position, Massa obviously likes this circuit and it will be interesting to see if he can break Red Bull string of Pole positions.

Should be a great race weekend. SpeedTV is broadcasting Friday Practice, Saturday Qualifying and the Race itself live, with the Practice session and the Race also repeated. U.S. bradcast times can be found in the table below.
