Red Bull Racing Launch RB6 at Jerez

by F1Fan on February 10, 2010

Red Bull Racing revealed their new car for the first time today just before the start of testing in Jerez with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber performing the lowkey unveiling of the new RB6 chassis.

Mark Webber had the honors of driving on this first day at Jerez, but it was most likely not the drive he was hoping for with the RB6 leaving him stranded out on the circuit after approximately 40 laps, suffering mechanical problems. Apparently an oil leak was the culprit either in the hydraulics or from the engine.

Red Bull Racing is continuing its relationship with Renault for the fourth year in a row, using the Renault R27 engine again this season, hopefully the engine reliability issues of last year are a thing of the past.

While design of the RB6 is a clean sheet design to make best effect of the rule changes for this season from the outset it has been designed to optimize the double diffuser rear end so while last years car performed well Red Bull is hoping for an improvement this year.
