European Grand Prix – Valencia Street Circuit
The Valencia Street circuit is a relatively new addition to the Formula One roster. Built in 2007 and 2008 the circuit hosted its first Formula One Grand Prix in 2008.
The Valencia Street circuit is a semi permanent circuit laid out around the streets of the revitalized inner dock area and the newly constructed juan Carlos marina situated adjacent to the Grao neighborhood within the city of Valencia.
The circuits unique design incorporating a section where the cars travel over a 140 meter long swing bridge that crosses the entrance to the Marina was coordinated by Herman Tilke the now famous F1 Circuit designer who has conceived such other modern circuits as Istanbul, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, to name just a few.
