I can’t help but wonder why we don’t hear more from USF1, especially with Peter Windsor at the helm, who certainly knows the importance of good PR.

YouTube Founder Chad Hurley, apparently the major investor in USF1 is an internet entrepreneur that has more internet experience than most people on the planet and yet the Team can’t even get a basic web site online, let alone the video rich experience we were promised when Hurley’s investment was announced.

Where are the sponsors? Manor GP now Virgin Racing have already announced a significant sponsorship by Richard Bransons “Virgin” conglomerate and just today Lloyds TSB Development Capital (LDC), the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group one of the major UK banks announced an investment in the team, yet USF1 have yet to announce even one sponsor, why?

Formula One is the number one Global franchise, the most watched global sport and yet USF1 has no US sponsors, is it that US corporations are just to parochial to realize the power that sponsorship of the first U.S. based team could bring to their brand, its not like the big US banks and investment houses are short of money, after tanking the US and World economy’s they have quickly bounced back and appear to be rolling in cash once again so what gives?

Johnny come lately Lotus Racing has already managed to sign two seasoned F1 drivers in Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen and Manor Gp/Virgin Racing has confirmed Timo Glock and it is strongly rumored that Brazilian Lucas Di Grassi will be joining the team as second driver. Even Campos Meta has already announced that Bruno Senna will be one of their drivers so why is USF1 playing it so close to the chest.

Common USF1 give us some real news, we are routing for you, yet you just don’t seem to care – definitely not the way I would build a fan base.
