World Motor Sport Council Approves New Points System for 2010

The F1 Commission met for the first time earlier this week since the signing of the 2009 Concorde Agreement. Comprising of Key championship stake holders from F1 including the teams, promoters, suppliers and sponsors and headed up by Bernie Ecclestone as president.

During the meeting a new points system was proposed for the 2010 season due to the increased size of the grid, subsequently the World Motor Sport Council approved the F1 Commission’s Points scoring proposal so for next season the following system will be used:
