Final Final Suzuka Grid Position

Well, thats the last time I’ll try to interpret the rules when it comes to applying penalties before the start of a race.

In addition to the penalties handed down, Kovalainen and Liuzzi also incurred penalties for changing the gearbox on their cars following their accidents in Qualifying.

In the final Grid starting positions announced by the FIA Barrichello came off best, after all the penalties had been assessed suffering only a net loss of one Grid position, while Alonso seems to have suffered the worse from the Q2 yellow flag incident that was caused by Buemi’s accident. Not only did he not make it into Q3 because he slowed down after seeing the yellow flag (apparently not quick enough for the stewards) he also received a 5 position penalty dropping him down to 16th on the Grid.
