Formula One Teams Association Reinstates Williams and Force India

by F1Fan on September 9, 2009

At a meeting in Monza today, prior to the Italian Grand Prix, the Formula One Teams Association (“FOTA”) reinstated Williams and Force India as full members of the organization.

Williams and Force India had been suspended from FOTA following their unconditional entry into the 2010 season during FOTA’s disagreement with the FIA on the imposed Salary cap for 2010. The FIA eventually accepted FOTA’s alternative proposal averting a mass withdrawal from Formula One by the remaining FOTA teams and the potential creation of a rival race series.

At the same time as reinstating the two suspended teams FOTA offered membership to the new teams that will be joining the F1 grid in 2010, Team USF1, Manor Grand Prix and Campos Grand Prix as set forth in FOTA’s statement released to the press today.
