McLaren’s Remarkable Increase in Pace (Part 2)

The last two interviews in the series with McLaren’s Jonathon Neale and Paddy Lowe can be found below.

So what next, will the Belgium Grand Prix at the famous Spa circiut continue to see McLaren leading the field. Not unless McLaren have some additional improvements to the MP4-24 up their sleeve that they are not letting on about, team Principal Martin Whitmarsh believes that the high speed nature of Spa may not suit the MP4-24 and doubts that they will be fighting for a win.

“Despite making some major improvements to MP4-24, we go to Spa knowing that the circuit’s high-speed configuration is unlikely to play to our strengths of our car. Having said that, our new technical package makes us confident that we’ll be a strong contender for points as we look to improve on our fourth position in the constructors’ championship. We’ve enjoyed a tremendous record here, winning 10 times, and both Lewis and Heikki love this place so I’m looking forward to another exciting race.”

However the weather at Spa is notoriously unpredictable so it could be anybodies race, don’t forget to set your DVR’s or tune in on SpeedTV this weekend for live coverage, Friday practice, Saturday Qualifying and Sunday the Race.
