Last Year For Silverstone

This will be the last year that the British Grand Prix will be held at Silverstone.  Many drivers including Rubens Barrichello of Brawn GP and Nick Hiedfeld of BMW Sauber would prefer Silverstone to stay on the schedule, Nick is quoted as saying “The whole opening section at Silverstone is fantastic – very fast and unmistakable. I would be really disappointed if Silverstone did end up being taken off the calendar. I’ve never found the circuit outdated – traditional yes, but not antiquated. In addition to the wonderful corners at the track, the very special atmosphere generated by the fans would be a big loss.” and in the Sun interview Rubens is reported as saying “It hurts me to see that Silverstone could not be on the calendar next year, more than Canada. It’s horrible Canada won’t be there but Silverstone hurts me more, not just for the feeling but because it is fast and safe – and that is all we want.” but currently Donnington Park circuit will host the British Grand Prix in 2010.
